Nirinjan has worked for over 35 years in Integrative Health and Wellness helping people to recover their health, mobility, vitality and joy. Her professional training includes Pilates at Balanced Body, GYROTONIC® Exercise, Yoga & Meditation, Active Release Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, Acupressure, Lomi Somatic Work, Middendorf Breathwork, BodyMind Centering and the Franklin Method. She has had the opportunity to work in integrative medical clinics and in movement studios with people recovering from chronic disease and pain as well as with athletes and performers seeking peak performance. In addition, she had the opportunity to work with victims of torture and political violence at the San Francisco General Hospital Refugee Clinic and at Survivors International using movement, breath and somatic based techniques to aid in healing.
-
During her recovery from late stage Lyme Disease in the 1990s, Nirinjan had the privilege of working with two remarkable women, Hidlegard Elsberg and Isle Middendorf, who began their work during the Weimar period in Germany a creative time where the convergence of science, art, body and soul were being explored in depth. They introduced her to the work of the embodied soul, sensory awareness, the subtle movements and perception of breath and expressive movement/dance, which played a profound role in her healing journey. Additionally, she drew inspiration from other innovators from that time such as Rudolf Laban, Ida Rolf, Joseph Pilates, and Mabel Todd.

Nirinjan is always looking for better ways to help people. In 2005, while working at a clinic, she started developing real-time respiratory acoustic feedback and diagnostics to assist patients in improving their breathing and to be able to quickly identify when breathing is compromised. She co-authored 7 patents and had the privilege of conducting research in collaboration with a cardiopulmonary lab at the Mayo Clinic. Learning about respiratory science and lung dynamics continues to be a great passion in helping people optimize breathing techniques for health, exercise and well-being.
-
During the COVID-19 pandemic, while teaching at a Pilates studio, Nirinjan started combining different kinds of compression springs and resistance bands in a single device to achieve a balanced approach to strengthening and coordinating respiratory and core muscle activation and release. This became the basis for the BreathCore Trainer, a portable exercise tool designed to improve breathing capacity, core strength, posture and balance.
